The Southeast Asia Regional Centre for Counter-Terrorism (SEARCCT) was honoured to be invited by the National Unity and Integration Department (Jabatan Perpaduan Negara dan Integrasi Nasional – JPNIN) to participate in the Town Hall Keselamatan dan Perpaduan Negara Peringkat Kebangsaan Tahun 2025, held on 19 June 2025 at the MBSA Convention Centre, Shah Alam, Selangor.

As both an exhibitor and contributor to the town hall dialogue, SEARCCT engaged with over 500 participants from across the country including representatives from government agencies, Kawasan Rukun Tetangga (KRT), civil society organisations, and university students.

At the exhibition booth, SEARCCT showcased its latest research publications and soft-approach initiatives in counter-terrorism and the prevention and countering of violent extremism (PCVE), highlighting efforts to build digital resilience and community awareness.

Mr. Kennimrod Sariburaja, Director of SEARCCT’s Research and Publications Division, was invited as a distinguished panellist in the strategic dialogue session titled: “Ancaman Siber dan Ketahanan Minda Komuniti” (Cyber Threats and Community Mental Resilience). During the session, Mr. Kennimrod emphasised the urgent need for holistic, community-based strategies to strengthen mental
resilience in the face of evolving cyber threats and online radicalisation.

SEARCCT extends its sincere appreciation to JPNIN for the opportunity to contribute to such a meaningful platform. The centre remains committed to fostering multi-stakeholder collaboration in promoting national unity and integration, while addressing the complex and evolving threat of extremism in Malaysia.
